Research interest:

Cell cycle control mediated by the Ubiquitin-Proteasome system. With this line of research we aim to study in depth the basic mechanisms of initiation and progression of tumorigenesis caused by alterations in the degradation process of proteins which regulate cell cycle. In order to do that we intend to analyse each step of the degradation, including the modification of the substrate which leads to its ubiquitination, and the subsequent proteolysis processes. The proliferation regulators which we are analysing are AP-1 transcription factor and mitotic cyclins.
