Ubiquitin-like proteins and cancer

Our work is oriented to the understanding of mechanisms of specificity before and after conjugation of proteins with members of the ubiquitin family of modifiers. Among our main protein models we have proteins regulating p53 and NF-kB activities. We use in vitro systems to reconstitute conjugating pathways to study the role of modulators of SUMOylation, NEDDylation and Ubiquitylation that have been identified by proteomics aproaches.
